History in the Making

Updated: Jun 12, 2020

We here at the Dorchester County Historical Society, like the rest of our nation and around the world, are temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are living through historic times, and we need your help to chronicle History In The Making.

The Dorchester County Historical Society’s number one mission is to be the ambassador of the rich history and culture of Dorchester County, Maryland. Our campus includes dozens of displays depicting our unique past and thousands of artifacts collected or donated throughout the years. In addition, we have an extensive genealogy library with the history of many of the first families of Dorchester.

Please share your story. We need to hear from first responders, health care workers, police, small business owners, young and old alike… every story is important to us.

All submissions will be placed in our library through our website for future generations to see the history we lived through and how it affected our lives.

We ask that you please submit your stories and photos to dchs@verizon.net. As we receive them, we hope to share them with others through our blog.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Please note that we reserve the right to not publish any material or submissions that we deem inappropriate or unfit for the general public.
